Several years ago Seth Callister and Ralph Perez started playing guitar together in different bands and have continued to do so through the last several years. As their friendship and kinship developed, the obvious common thread was the love of high quality guitar music and the making of it. Inspired by a world class LDS guitarist Michael Dowdle, the pair began recording themselves and their own representation of popular or favorite church hymns. What was recorded even surprised the pair as they watched and listened to the reactions and comments from family and friends.

They call themselves “The Callister-Perez Project” for lack of a more creative name. After all, it was a project turned into a love of making music that inspires, calms the soul, and invites wholesomeness to a listener’s life. Please enjoy the music. Email:

Christmas Songs, coming along!!!!

Well, we are still working on our Christmas songs. Here it is April 2010 and we are still adding songs when we can. Life has been so busy that we've not been able to record consistantly for a few weeks. I've had many other projects going on with the 40 Somethin Band, Callie Trane's dynamic and absolutely stunning work, Little Mary Rovig's big huge voice for her Jr Miss Pagent, and some solo stuff. Seth with his website and book and his lessons for some other guitarists that he is teaching, has kept him busy too.

We'll change up the songs to the left here soon.

We want to thank all of you who have made such kind and encouraging comments to us about our music. We sincerely enjoy the accolades and words of affirmation. Somehow we'll be able to sell this music. The reality is, we do it because we love the music and the magical sounds that come from playing with eachother is payment enough. If nothing else, it's a legacy for our children and grandchildren. they tend to be our biggest fans!! But, thanks to all of you friends out there for listening and keep encouraging us, PLEASE!!! ha ha ha

Recording Christmas Songs!!!!

Seth and I have been recording Christmas songs to go along with our Hymns. These songs are not all of the religious nature that our hymns are. There will be popular tunes on there and maybe even an original or two. Time will tell. So far we have 4 in the bag and we'll have more weekly as we record through the spring.

Hope this New Year is the best for all of you.

A Touch of Looking Back here!!!

Seth called us a while back and asked if we, the three of us comprising the Looking Back Band, would play the Fair at the Food Court Stage on Wednesday the 9th. It was an absolute joy playing the great old songs that the three of us grew up with all over again. The crowd seemed to really enjoy the 3 part vocal harmonies and all the guitar work that we presented. Mostly, I think it was the old magic of the three of us playing again that made it so pleasant. This post really doesn't have to much to do with The Callister-Perez Project but, it was some mighty fine pickin and singing and I feel it is worthy to put here.
